F I R R O
THE SACRED HEART OPENER
THREE PLANTS. ONE HEART.
FIRRO began with the physical heart.
But the heart has always meant more than an organ.
Across language, art and culture it is where we place courage, love, grief, instinct and conviction.
To be wholehearted is to remain open to the full experience of being alive.
The three plants in FIRRO each express a different part of that.
CAYENNE
CAPSICUM FRUTESCENS
The Sacred Flame
INNER FIRE
Cayenne is heat made physical.
-
It brings immediate sensation into the body. Sharp, direct and impossible to ignore.
-
For FIRRO, cayenne represents the inner fire: appetite, courage, creative impulse and the willingness to act on what feels alive.
-
Sometimes that fire burns brightly. Sometimes it is an ember buried beneath the ash.
-
Find it. Tend it. Let it move.
DAMASK ROSE
ROSA DAMASCENA
OPEN + UNAFRAID
Rose is often mistaken for softness alone.
-
Velvet petals, intoxicating scent and thorns all belong to the same plant.
-
For FIRRO, rose represents the strength required to remain open without becoming defenceless.
-
To feel beauty and pain. To keep tenderness without losing boundaries. To let the heart remain open even when life gives it reason to close.
-
Tenderness is not weakness.
HAWTHORN
CRATAEGUS OXYCANTHA
THE OPEN HEART
Hawthorn is thorned, resilient and deeply rooted in the British landscape.
-
Hard thorns carry an abundance of white blossom in spring, followed by deep red berries in autumn.
-
For FIRRO, hawthorn embodies one of the central paradoxes of the heart: to be strong enough to stay open.
-
Protection without withdrawal. Strength without hardening. The capacity to feel deeply without collapsing or closing.
-
Strong heart. Open heart.
